CVHS

The Crane Valley school district was founded in 1927.  The country schools of the Marigold district and part of the Bliss Lake and Dryboro Lake school districts amalgamated, and the Crane Valley school offered grades 1-12.  The new school attracted high school students from the surrounding districts.  As more country schools closed such as Enniscorthy, Wenaus, Dannybrook and Cardross, the original school became overcrowded.  A new school was built in 1955.  As the baby boom erupted, an even larger school was opened in 1966.  The new school had ten classrooms, a gymnasium and a teacher’s lounge.

Meanwhile, over at Ormiston, grades 9-12 began going to CVHS in the early 1960’s.  By 1968 not just the grade niners migrated to Crane Valley for high school, but grade 7 and 8 also transferred to CVHS.  The Ormiston school was closed in 1976.

CVHS opened up new friendships across the districts.  This year the Ormiston and Friends 2023 reunion is an opportunity to reunite all the school companions formed by the alumni of Crane Valley High School.  Hope to see you in Moose Jaw and Oro Lake July 15/16th, 2023.
